Wedding Invitation Gift or Money Verses

Wedding Invitation Gift or Money Verses

Article Written:

Bride and grooms often worry about how to word asking for gifts or money in their wedding invitations.  Don’t worry! It’s very common to ask for money nowadays as many couples will have been living together for a while and will most likely have a lot of the items, more traditionally bought as a wedding gift.

A poem or a small verse will do the trick.

Giving reasons as to why you are asking for money is also a good way of making your guest feel they are contributing to something greater e.g honeymoon, home improvements, savings or even towards the inevitable costs that go with starting a family.

You may still want gifts, so I have also given examples of ways to ask for these, it could be a gift list from a store or just a list of items you have chosen.

Whatever way you decide there is a poem or verse below that will help.

Wedding Invitation with Money Verse

The most important gift to us is having you share in our special day.

But if you wish to contribute in some other way, we would love a few pennies to put in our pot, for our honeymoon trip after tying the knot!

We are sending out this invitation,

And hope you will join our celebration.

If to send a gift is your intention,

In modesty we would like to mention,

We have already got a kettle and a toaster,

Crockery, Dinner Mats and Coasters,

So rather than something we have already got,

Please give us money for our saving pot.

But, most importantly, we request,

That you turn up as our wedding guest.

So what do you get for the Bride and Groom,
Whose house has things in every room?

When shopping for a present, please, don’t be rash,
as the option is there to just give cash,

We hope that you don’t find our request to be funny,
but the decision is yours to buy a present,
or just give money,

Now you have the choice please do not fuss,
the most important thing of all,
is that you come and celebrate with us!

As our wedding day draws near,

We hope our sentiment is clear.

We need you there as we are wed,

to witness our love as vows are said.

But as for gifts, please, please don’t try

to find the ideal thing to buy.

We have no list of pots and pans

Just hopes and dreams and kitchen plans.

So if a gift is on your mind,

A contribution would kind.

It will help us more than words can say,

To celebrate our special day!

We do not have a gifting list.

Our house is set with nothing missed.

We’d like to go on a honeymoon.

A place for us as bride and groom

We’re asking for a cash donation

to send us to our dream location.
